Welcome news from the OFT

The news that Office of Fair Trading has cleared the way for a new London afternoon commuter newspaper to rival the Metro will be welcome news for less right-wing leaning individuals. Associated Newspapers will no longer have their stranglehold on the "underground" network. Reports that the Guardian Media Group are among the companies interested in publishing a free commuter newspaper makes the news even better. Perhaps all those travellers who choose to read the free Metro over daily newsapers in the morning, and then the Evening Standard on their way home, won't have quite such a poisoned view of those around them.
