Emap has announced plans to launch a weekly magazine aimed at women who want a slightly heavier read than the usual celebrity gossip and 'real-life' stories. The media giant plans to spend £12 million on the launch, which comes on the back of the hugely successful 'lads' magazine Zoo. The women's magazine is expected to launch in June 2006 and will be edited by Julian Linley, the current deputy editor of Heat. So does this mean that Chantelle and Preston are off limits? Somehow I doubt it. Oh well, Preston's great-great-great-great grandfather did oversee slavery being abolished throughout the British Empire - just add that in to your Celebrity Big Brother marriage story and surely that constitutes a little more in-depth than Heat would normally go?
